Bay of Apostles Pinot Grigio 2010

Geelong

Pinot Grigio and Pinot Gris are the same grape variety. Pinot Grigio in Italian, Pinot Gris in French. “Grigio” and “Gris” both meaning grey which is the hue present on the colour of the wine. White Peach and Pear nose, with pink lady apples and Nashi pear flavours. Great balance with a long finish. A refreshing wine perfect for seafood or chicken.

Bay of Apostles Sauvignon Blanc 2010
Geelong

The cool climate of Geelong is ideal for Sauvignon Blanc.

2010 was a fantastic year, with colder than average

temperatures in January, and slightly warmer than average

low temperatures in February and March, creating even

growth and balance in bunches.

Bay of Apostles Sparkling Pinot Chardonnay 2010
Geelong

The best white wines are made with only free run juice.
The Chardonnay (30%) was free run, while the Pinot Noir
(70%) was pressed slightly to add a richness of flavour,
giving this wine it's slight blush colour. You can tell how
good sparkling wine is by how fine the bead (or bubbles)
are - the smaller the better

Bay of Apostles Cabernet Sauvignon 2006
Coonawarra

This wine has an intense colour with very soft tannins,
and no residual sugar. Yet it still tastes sweet which shows
just how perfectly balanced the vines were that this wine
came from. Keeping the grapes very small means we can still
get the intense colour and flavour from our grapes without
pressing them too hard.

Bay of Apostles Shiraz 2006
Geelong

Big rich blockbuster of a red. In typical Koonara style all the
residual sugar has been fermented dry, but the wine still tastes
sweet. This one is the sweetest of the lot, with natural fruit
and new oak leaving a sweet chocolate tobacco finish. It's a
knockout, but finishes so smooth you wouldn't know.

Bay of Apostles Pinot Noir 2009
Geelong, Mt Gambier

Hot on the heels of the phenomenal success of the 2008 -

The Great Ocean Road stretches over 400 kilometres, from
Melbourne to the Border of South Australia. At one end, is the cooler Port Phillip area, famous for the Pinot Noir and cool climate Shiraz. At the other end is an equally famous region, The Limestone Coast.

Grapes sourced from the cooler parts of these regions has seen the tight acid in the the fruit from the Bellarine part of the Port Phillip balance with the richer fruit sweetness of the Mt Gambier part of the Limestone Coast. The wine has been in 80% new tight French oak, and 20% in 2nd year or older barrels.
